About Jeanne...

Jeanne Ferrando has been practicing clinical social work for the past seventeen years. Her vast experience includes working in the medical and psychiatric fields, specializing in adults and geriatrics and servicing a wide variety of individual cases.

Jeanne’s extensive background includes working at Atria Assisted Living as their Director of Memory Care and Resident Relations. Jeanne provided staff trainings in addition to developing and facilitating a caregiver support group supported by the Hudson Valley Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association.

Jeanne spent 6 years of her career at New York Presbyterian Hospital Weill Cornell Medical center in New York City and White Plains, NY. It was where she worked alongside world-renowned doctors, nurses and social workers, caring for patients with a variety of complex issues. She advanced her social work skills including advocacy and outreach for adults and geriatric patients who suffered from acute medical and psychiatric conditions. She perfected a special quality to see through a person’s vulnerability and developed specific plans to help the entire being rather than just the issues with which a person may struggle.

Jeanne has established herself as an expert in successfully managing crisis-intervention, assessment/diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy and mobilizing support systems geared specifically for a client’s needs.

Jeanne’s clients consistently recognize her as a trustworthy clinician who helps them navigate a complex system. She proudly helps her clients manage their physical and mental health issues by sorting through a multitude of diagnoses including Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.

Continuing her efforts in the social work field, Jeanne worked at Westchester Medical Center’s Behavioral Health Center and specialized in Geriatric Medicine and Psychiatry as well as adult mental health and Jeanne provided several years of individual, family and group therapy.

Jeanne is a calm force who can intervene during any client’s crisis and help guide a client and their family members through emotions and feelings as well as help navigate through a confusing health care system.

Jeanne’s extensive knowledge, expertise, big heart and unique therapeutic approach enables her to provide exceptional clinical services to those in need. She can provide services in her own office space and also provides mobile services to those who may be home bound or unable to travel.

Jeanne likes to describe the services she provides as "above and beyond" what the average therapist delivers and is the founder and owner of Hudson Counseling services which is located at "The Great Room of Tarrytown" (pictured below).
