Therapy for life. Depression. Anxiety. Stress.
My mission is to make professional counseling accessible, affordable and convenient so those who struggle with life’s challenges can get the help they need when and where it works for them.
My style has been described by those I've worked with as warm, understanding, no nonsense, supportive and informative.
My office is a warm and welcoming space located in Mahopac, NY. It is also conveniently accessible to Yorktown, Somers and Carmel.
In addition to inperson sessions, I also offer confidential, online telethearpy via video or phone so that distance does not create a barrier between you and my clinical services .
I work from a client centered perspective, meaning that I focus on where my clients are starting from and where they wish to go.
I work with clients who have broad backgrounds but all bring a strong desire to make real changes in their lives. The process of change is really more of a conversation where you get to steer the discussion; my role of a therapist is often to help you find the best way to manage your life and challenges.
One of the most difficult discoveries we may encounter is when we recognize coping skills we previously used are no longer working. Seeking new skills, having the patience to learn them and getting support through that time is extremely important. In individual therapy we explore patterns of behavior so that in moving forward you can use new ideas or look at situations in a different way.
I have been practicing clinical social work for the past eighteen years. My vast experience includes working in the medical and psychiatric field, specializing in adults of all ages. Additional credentials include working with those dealing with depression, anxiety, mood disorders, grief/loss and difficult life stressors.
I spent six years of my career at New York Presbyterian Hospital - Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City and White Plains, NY where I worked alongside world-renowned physicians, nurses, and social workers caring for patients with a variety of complex issues. I advanced my social work skills including advocacy and outreach for adults who suffered from acute medical and psychiatric conditions and complex family systems.
Continuing my efforts in the field, I currently work at Westchester Medical Behavioral Health Center and specialize in Adult Psychiatry.
I am a calm force who can intervene during crisis and offer my best self to those seeking support. I like to describe the services I provide as "above and beyond" what the average therapist delivers.
